During yesterday's CNN interview with retired US Army Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling the general called Donald Trump's policy to defeat ISIS 'sophomoric'.

In the MSNBC Clinton / Trump Commander-In-Chief question and answer period aboard the USS Intrepid this evening (7 September 2016), Trump indicated that a major US Foreign Policy fault is that there is lack of end-game planning. I.e., plans to keep the peace after the war is won are not implemented well. End-game planning must be incorporated into strategic level plans for the entire campaign from start to finish. In Syria's case, the peace process has to include Russia, Syria and surrounding countries. Trump clearly recognizes this but Hillary Clinton does not seem to, or at least she will not admit it.
